Got that limiting beliefs list handy?If you aren’t sure what I mean, you are going to need to read, “Identifying Limiting Beliefs”, and follow the instructions given. Now that you’ve uncovered some of your limiting beliefs, what do you do with them? That’s exactly where that list comes into play. Making a list of your limiting beliefs enables you to play detective. Following your thoughts and emotions to create the list allows you to uncover those limiting beliefs and drag them out into the open. Now that you’ve done that, here are three steps to start the process of eliminating those limiting beliefs.
Acknowledge that these are only beliefs and that they are not true!So, this is the absolute hardest thing to do. After all, those limitations feel very real, except they’re not. It is time to stare down those limiting beliefs and say No More! What’s more important: achieving your goals or defending your limitations? The choice is up to you, but trust me you can’t do both. The question is what or rather who will you choose? I hope you choose YOU.
Flip the script...Use your imagination and create a personalized affirmation that is more in line with what you want. It might be something like, “My relationship struggles of the past have taught me that I am more than enough for anyone.” Or, “Now that I’ve been in an unhealthy relationship I’ve learned that I deserve better!” Don’t just say or write the words, embrace them. Walk around in them so that you are connected to the feeling of this new belief.
Act the part...Another scary one, but you can do it. I want you to act as if your new belief is true. What does this mean? If you really are more than enough for anyone, how would you act around people? What kind of person would you date? If you really have learned a truck load of information from past financial struggles, what steps would you take? How would you spend your money? If you really are the kind of person who eats healthy food, what’s in your grocery cart? Do not pick up those donuts! Follow these steps and you will begin to rid yourself of those clingy detestable beliefs that have been weighing you down. If you don’t you will just be feeding your old limiting belief, and “Ain’t nobody got time for that!” Taking action, even the smallest action, will benefit you greatly. Just remember, your first steps don’t have to be perfect, just headed in the right direction. Celebrate yourself for making this shift in your life! You’ve worked hard for it.
