My Latest Journal
Do you know how important focus and clarity is to achieving success? These two essential ingredients are often overlooked. One problem we have is we are not consistently focused and therefore not clear! Whatever you want to accomplish, it simply won’t happen unless we focus our thoughts and find clarity to take action. Until this happens, the things we want will remain unattainable and beyond reach.
Here’s the truth. In order to be successful you need to be deliberate and intentional in your actions and thoughts. One way I have been able to do this is by journaling my thoughts and actions. The simple act of recording your thoughts and declaring your intentions can make a huge difference between success and failure. Here are a few benefits of journaling –
Ignite Your Personal Development
I know for me, I have to purge my thoughts by putting them on paper in order to make sense of them. Thoughts that are running around in your mind can be distracting. Journaling can help develop a clearer comprehension of what you are thinking vs. what you are trying to accomplish. Journaling can impact your personal development by giving audience to your thoughts. Your thoughts include things you hope to accomplish, so by writing them down your thought become words and your written words are the beginning of turning your thoughts into legitimate action.
Track Your Progress
Everyone has goals but are you reaching your goals? Do you have a clear sense of purpose? Are your values and vision in line with your goals? These are just a few questions you can answer with a personal journal. The process of taking the time to make note of your intentions and mission allows you to move from a point of planning, to a point of implementing, to a point of success.
Celebrate Your Accomplishments
Sometimes we can be really hard on ourselves. A journal helps you see a clear view of how far you’ve come and how much you’ve accomplished. Because you’ve got a written record to review it allows you to be more considerate of your efforts and accomplishments. This is really a good thing when you are experiencing moments of indecision or when you think you may not be able to continue to pursue your goals.
Pump up Your Focus and Clarity
Having the courage to sit down and write is the first step in building your focus and finding clarity. By focusing on the things you want to accomplish and writing them in your journal, you keep your goals and intentions in plain view. Journaling enables you to think critically, analytically and with intention. These are key traits needed to stay focused and clear regarding your purpose.
Establish Your Why
There is always a reason to our intentions. The reasoning can be found in our values. Answering your why is very important and will undoubtedly lead to determining your how. Why and how are important introduction to our personal value system. Journaling allows you to answer questions. They are an important part of the reason why you choose to pursue the things you do.
When your intentions are clearly stated it is super hard to not be accountable. There they are in writing! Trust me it’s not easy to throw in the towel without a good reason. Journaling just keeps it real and allows you to not only see the direction you are headed, but to see how far you’ve come. That quick look back will empower you to keep going.
