I simply don’t bother with New Year’s Resolutions. I know lots of people do, but for me it seems to be just another reason to put off something I have promised to do. I am a recovering procrastinator! Okay…I said it! It’s out there in the mystical elements of the internet…forever. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t have the power to change it. I have done so by reflection. I give myself fifteen minutes each day to reflect on my day. I ask myself questions…not in a crazy woman talking to herself kind of way…. More like a pensive and compassionate set of inquiries . Have I help anyone today? Have I made a difference? Did I make myself available to listen? Have I improved my ability to see as God sees, love as God loves or give as God gives? Am I really doing my best to represent my Heavenly Father? Reflection helps me bridge the path between growth and improvement. I may not be all that God has designed me to be…but every second He allows me to exist I strive to be better….to be who He has designed me to become and do the things He leads me to do. So, tonight during my fifteen minutes of reflection I have much to ponder and endless things to be grateful for. My wish for you….don’t get stuck on New Year’s Resolutions. The bigger picture is one that includes every moment of your life and all the things you have yet to do. You are designed to be great in your own anointed way. Find that path and see for yourself what God has planned just for you. Try looking at your life in terms of breaths….each single breath is God’s gift to you. Just don’t waste them for they are priceless. Reflect and ask God to show you how to use your next breath….it’s an effort….but well worth it. Give it a chance.
